1. - if you also plan a trip like this, please concern your individual costs. The budget amounts are very individually (in person and travel kind).
2. - the motorcycle purchase, purchase of equipment and expenditures for maps, courses etc. are not contained in the budget table! It concerns the pure travel budget here.
3. - we did not win the money at the lottery! You must think about how you intend to finance it. We have very early began to save (some years). It's not always easy: therefor we have some saving tips.

The nearer the journey, the more simple saving becomes. On the one hand the trip becomes real and the savings pressure rises automatically. On the other hand you can already start to do without much things at least 1 year before leaving home:
- you need no more technical devices when you consider the life cycle of such devices: If you'll return from the journey in two years, you get twice as efficient for half the price. It's hard for me to do it without these small nice devices - do it nevertheless. No new PC, no handy, forget the new multi-function equipment wich now is on sale..., no, also no projector, not a tiny small robot to Christmas. No.
- no more new dresses, the old one will do it. If new dresses mean very much to you, for your quality of life, buy new dresses - but purchasing one piece does it. Make your thoughts already today, what you would like to carry during the journey (e.g. trekking trousers, etc.). That has the advantage that you can test it in the everyday life use.
- Subscription, leasing contracts..: Check them out and cancel all the unnecessary ones.
- start learn cooking! That is not a joke. We ourselves went out for dinner for years. We spent a lot of money. But we learned cooking and saving money: every time we cook ourself, we put some money (the same amount we would have paid at the restaurant) in a box. The total amount of this box is not certain momentarily, it will be counted one day before takeoff.
